Let's Start A Riot...compilation series

Note: Bootleg is life, bootleg is...Oh, fuck. No. Forget what I wrote. Source: TheLogoCooler.

Coucou, les chaton.ne.s! We're back once again with another quick update. This time I have to admit I don't have current ideas to write about. Even though I do have planned some upcoming special posts in the next months, I can't quite figure out what to publish in the meanwhile. So, I was looking for some records and I surprisingly found these two jewels and yes, they're bootlegs. This compilation series were released in Germany, the country of bootlegging (is that even a word?) 80s and 90s hardcore punk, by a short-lived record label named Riot Records. Besides these two compilations, they did also release an unofficial Assfort (Japan) 7" named Guilty! (199x), which compiled their debut full-length named Five Knuckle Shuffle (Selfish Records (Japan), 1991) but with different artwork, layout and inserts. Something that really caught my attention about this enigmatic record label is that all their records had comprehensive details about the featured bands including biography, lyrics, curious facts and more. Indeed, unlike other bootlegs out there, they put lots of effort on every single release. This trend gives me some ideas...Ha ha ha...Finally, I hope you enjoy these compilations and, in the near future, I'll do feature some other cool bootlegs like these ones. Stay tuned if I get some new ideas Ha ha ha. With all that written, let's begin.

Let's Start A Riot...Vol. 1...In Holland! 7"(199x)

Featured bands: Noxious, Neopunkz, B.G.K., Amsterdamned, Outlawz, Hämorrhoids, Riot Punx and Pure Hate.

If you have good memory, we already featured the well-known Holland Hardcore Attack compilation series when the site was in Spanish. The aforementioned collection basically contains some of all the best 80s dutch hardcore punk bands ever. You can re-download them by clicking here. If you also remember, we do stated that some other good musical groups were absent, so you could consider this bootleg as a complement. Now, the featured tracks were already previously available on other records, for example, Arms Race by B.G.K. (probably the most well-known band in the compilation) was released on their debut EP Jonestown Aloha! (Vögelspin Records (Netherlands), 1983) and other tracks were directly taken from Als Je Haar Maar Goed Zit...Nr. 2 compliation (Vögelspin Records, 1983. Finally, click on the image for downloading this interesting bootleg compilation. You'll find here short, fast and loud hardcore punk with both british and american traits (even some of them teasing with thrashcore). If you enjoy this enigmatic yet underrated dutch hardcore punk scene in the 80s, you'll love this record. (Hmmm, I think I already know what I'm going to write about next time...). Artwork, inserts, and lyrics are included in the file. Highly recommended. Enjoy!

Let's Start A Riot...Vol. 1...In Sweden! 2x7"(1998)

Featured bands: Nyx Negativ, E.A.T.E.R., Anti-Cimex, Disarm, S.O.D., Arroganta Agitarorer, D.T.A.L., Mob 47, Bristles, Existenz, Noncens and T.S.T.

We finally conclude this entry with this impressive 80s swedish hardcore punk compilation. I have no words to describe the greatness displayed by these ferocious d-beat-influenced hardcore punk outfits (with even some of them teasing with thrashcore). We already have featured some other compilations in our modest Garanterat Mangel special post, which can be viewed by clicking here. So, the tracks were directly taken from some early recordings of the featured bands, as well as Varning För Punk 3 CD Box Set (Distortion Records (Sweden), 1994). In fact, the editor despises the idea of using the CD format for releasing hardcore punk material and that's why this humble 2x7" compilation was released. Ironically, this compilation was re-issued in 2005 by Pelea Records, a peruvian record label, on CD format. Finally, we don't need to write more about this. Hmmm, yes. I'd probably remark the fact that some rare swedish HC outfits such as Arroganta Agitarorer, Noncens and T.S.T. are included. Pure gold. Finally, click on the image for downloading this interesting recordArtwork, inserts, and lyrics are included in the file. Note: Both Mob 47 tracks are merged as one since I forgot to separate them when I was ripping the record. Highly recommended. Enjoy and until next time. Kisses and hugs!
